Starting Fresh

You ever wonder why people make New Year Resolutions? It's in the hope of having a new year and a new start. Forgetting the old and leaving it behind. Starting a new journey or voyage if you will.

Some people start new jobs, new weight loss programs and some start new fads, with hopes to better themselves. Some people stick to the "New Years Resolutions" and some waver until eventually they give up.

Amidst all the craziness of planning and prep for the future, you can loose yourself. You can forget who you are and why you do what you do. But if you truly are sincere in what you do and why you do it there is hope.

For those of you struggling with:
do I keep this job , do I continue to allow myself to be put in this position, do I even try to do what is right anymore, should I even go to Church anymore, how could this happen to me, why do I always do this to myself...

Think about this. The Bible says that Jesus is acquainted with our sufferings. <>
He knows what we are going through and He will make a way.
Don't ever think you are alone! God is always right there with you never leaving you.

So when you are thinking about your new years resolutions and what you can do to better yourself/lief. Remember the one who gave up His so you could have the choice to make this decision.

God I pray that as we seek wisdom in what the future holds and what You have for us that we will be quick to listen and slow to speak! Guide our every step, show us the way to fulfilling the call that You have given us. Let us not back down from what You have called us to and from where You have called us to go. Help us to stand firm and strong in times of adversity and trials. Let us not be marked by the world but let the world be marked by us! The life we live and the people we reach let it all be for You! All glory and honor to You Lord.

We've gotta talk

This scripture has been stuck in my mind for the past 2 days! Jesus really knew what He was talking about when He said "anything!" It's surprising to me that we sometimes have such a hard time doing what He tells us to do! I think it's because of our flesh that we don't follow what He/ His word tells us to do. One day hopefully we will get it.

15If one of my followers [a] sins against you, go and point out what was wrong. But do it in private, just between the two of you. If that person listens, you have won back a follower. 16But if that one refuses to listen, take along one or two others. The Scriptures teach that every complaint must be proven true by two or more witnesses. 17If the follower refuses to listen to them, report the matter to the church. Anyone who refuses to listen to the church must be treated like an unbeliever or a tax collector.

Any thoughts?

A Suicide Mission

10 A follower named Ananias lived in Damascus, and the Lord spoke to him in a vision. Ananias answered, "Lord, here I am." 11 The Lord said to him, "Get up and go to the house of Judas on Straight Street. When you get there, you will find a man named Saul from the city of Tarsus. Saul is praying, 12and he has seen a vision. He saw a man named Ananias coming to him and putting his hands on him, so that he could see again." 13 Ananias replied, "Lord, a lot of people have told me about the terrible things this man has done to your followers in Jerusalem. 14 Now the chief priests have given him the power to come here and arrest anyone who worships in your name." 15 The Lord said to Ananias, "Go! I have chosen him to tell foreigners, kings, and the people of Israel about me. 16 I will show him how much he must suffer for worshiping in my name." 17 Ananias left and went into the house where Saul was staying. Ananias placed his hands on him and said, "Saul, the Lord Jesus has sent me. He is the same one who appeared to you along the road. He wants you to be able to see and to be filled with the Holy Spirit."

I read this this morning and I couldn't help but wonder if Ananias felt like he was on a suicide mission for the Lord.
I mean think about it! God tells you to go to the person who is no legally allowed to kill people who follow The Way/ Christians! Wait hold up a minute, Do what God!!! "He's done terrible things to Your followers God!"
BUt never the less Ananias stepped up to the plate and did what God had called him to do!
I like how Ananias told Saul, "The Lord Jesus has sent me. The one who appeared to you on the road."
This is classic, Ananias sounded like he was super worried. He told Saul twice hey I am only here because "the Lord sent me", yeah you remember "the one who appeared to you!" Yep the same one! So don't kill me!!!
Haha

So my whole thought is... If Ananias can do something for God that could potentially cause him to die, shouldn't we be willing to go and tell someone about Jesus! He did it probably sacred out of his mind, but at least he did it, and look at the outcome today!
What is it that God wants us to do that we are scared of, a little suffering never hurt no one. Paul said, "I delight in the sufferings of Christ." <2 Cor 12:10>
Let's delight in His sufferings!
